FAQ

MprooV’s goal is to be a broad-based personal growth platform, covering all topics and interests. MprooV started with Chess and Tennis and hopes to expand quickly. If you have feedback for us or if you have expertise or experience in any area and want to help people and earn money by becoming a School Creator, please contact us cat@mproov.me.

An MprooVer joins a School on a topic that they want to improve and then answers a basic question that tells the platform their general proficiency on the topic. After that, an MprooVer will receive an Action Plan based on what the School Creator thinks are the Top Priorities for someone trying to improve at this specific topic. MprooVers can complete an Assessment of themselves and then have the MprooV algorithm reset their Top Priorities personalized to their individualized needs. At any time, an MprooVer can override the recommended Top Priorities and manually set them to what the MprooVer wants to work on.

Every Monday, the app delivers to the MprooVer (in their New feed) 15 Action Items for them to complete. 12 of the 15 Action Items are based on the MprooVer’s Top Priorities (3 from each Top Priority) and 3 Action Items are randomly selected. MprooVers can also receive a fresh set of 15 Action Items in their New Feed whenever they update their Top Priorities by doing a new Prioritization from the Attributes tab.

MprooVers as well as their Experts/Coaches and Supports can also create Action Items, supplementing the automated Action Plan by using the + button located near the bottom right of the My Actions (Action Items for Experts/Supports) tab on the MprooVer’s New feed. Additionally, MprooVers can discover Action Items relating to any Attribute (not just their Top Priorities) in the Discover tab.

For any Action Item, an MprooVer can complete it, receive the points and move up the Leaderboard or they can Save for later. Alternatively, if the MprooVer does not like the Action Item, they can skip it or choose to hide it. As MprooVers improve, they can track their progress by updating their score for that Attribute on the Attributes tab.

Experts/Coaches and Supports can join an MprooVer’s Team and recommend an Action Item by tapping the Save functionality on any Action Item, which will then save that Action Item in their MprooVer’s New and Saved feeds. They can also do an Assessment and/or a Prioritization for the MprooVer on the Attributes tab, but it is up to the MprooVer if they want to accept those recommendations.

Every Attribute is scored from 1-100. For each School, an MprooVer selects the level they are at. That level determines the average range of scores that the MprooVer should have for Attributes. However, for any given Attribute, the MprooVer’s score could be higher or lower than their level or may be at the low range or high range of that level. For example, for a particular skill, the MprooVer might be at the high range of the level recommended but maybe for a particular strategy, the MprooVer is at the low range of a higher level.

Each School has a Help button to assist you in assessing MprooVer Attributes. The Help button is on the top right of the Update Attribute Scores screen, which you can get to by tapping the Start Assessment banner on the top of the Attributes screen (for first time MprooVers only) or by tapping the Update Attribute Scores on the bottom of the Attributes tab.

Don’t worry about getting every score exactly correct. The important thing is your Attribute scores relative to your other Attribute scores so you want the Attributes that you are better at to have higher scores than the ones that you are worse at so that our backend algorithm correctly uses these scores to recommend your Top Priorities.

MprooVer is the person joining the School and improving.

Expert/Coach is an expert or coach in the same field as the applicable School who is assisting an MprooVer in their improvement journey.

Oftentimes, Experts/Coaches are using the MprooV app to help their MprooVers in-person and throughout the week even when they are not together.

Support is a friend/family member of the MprooVer or just someone that wants to support the MprooVer in their improvement journey.

Experts and Supports can recommend and create Action Items for MprooVers but only MprooVers can complete Action Items. Experts and Supports can also recommend Attribute scores and Attribute Prioritizations to their MprooVer, but only the MprooVer can make changes to scores or prioritizations.

To become an Expert/Coach or Support of an MprooVer, you must make a request to the MprooVer and they must approve of you joining their Team.

Whenever an MprooVer joins a School, they have access to the Pro version of the app for that School for a 14-day free trial. If the MprooVer upgrades to Pro during the 14-day period, there are no changes to their experience and they get access to all of the features and functionality of the app for that School. If the MprooVer does not choose to upgrade, then they are downgraded to the Free version and will receive limited access to a number of features and functionality.

On the homescreen of each tab in the app (Action Items, Discover, Attributes and More), at the very top of the screen it will tell you what Role you are in (MprooVer, Expert/Coach or Support) and for what School. And if you are in Expert/Coach or Support mode, it will tell you who the MprooVer is.

To change your Role, go to the Select Role screen by tapping the down arrow next to the name of the School (which is at the top right of the screen when you are on one of the 4 main tabs) and then tap on the User you want to switch to. You can also join a new School or create a new Role from this screen.

Note: You can also tell what role you are in by the app coloring:

MprooVer – Red

Expert/Coach – Blue

Support – Orange

On the homescreen of each tab in the app (Action Items, Discover, Attributes and More), at the very top of the screen it will tell you what Role you are in (MprooVer, Expert/Coach or Support) and for what School. And if you are in Expert/Coach or Support mode, it will tell you who the MprooVer is.

To join a new School as an MprooVer or join another Users’ team as an Expert/Coach or Support, go to the Select Role screen by tapping the down arrow to the right of the name of the School (which is at the top right of the screen when you are on one of the 4 main tabs) and then tap on “+ Join New School” or + “Coach New MprooVer” or “+ Support New MprooVer”. After tapping “+ Coach New MprooVer” or “+ Support New MprooVer”, type in their MprooV Alias to request to be on their Team.

Action Items are any type of action that an MprooVer can take to improve themselves in the applicable School. Every Action Item is categorized as Instructional (teaching how to do something), Exercise (the MprooVer does something) or Professional (learning from a professional). Action Items are created by the School Creator by curating the best content from around the world (including content only available on MprooV). MprooVers as well as their Experts/Coaches and Supports can also create Action Items for the MprooVer by using the “+ Add” button located above the Action Items on the MprooVer’s New feed (on the Action Items tab).

Every Monday, the MprooV app delivers to the MprooVer (in their New feed) 15 Action Items for the MprooVer to complete that week. 12 of the 15 Action Items are based on the MprooVer’s Top Priorities (3 from each Top Priority) and 3 Action Items are randomly selected by the MprooV algorithm. MprooVers also receive a fresh set of 15 Action Items in their New Feed whenever they update their Top Priorities by doing a new Prioritization (Attributes tab > Prioritization).

MprooVer can also discover Action Items relating to any particular Attribute in the Discover tab.

For any Action Item, an MprooVer can complete the Action Item, receive the points and move up the Leaderboard. Or they can Save the Action Item for later. Experts/Coaches and Supports can recommend an Action Item for their MprooVer by tapping the Save functionality on any Action Item, which will then save that Action Item in their MprooVer’s New and Saved feeds.

Note: Some Action Items link to content behind a paywall, and it is up to the MprooVer if they want to access that content.

You will first need to confirm that you are in the correct Role for this MprooVer.

If you are in MprooVer mode or are an Expert or Support for a different MprooVer or for a different School, then you will need to change your Role first. To do this, go to the Select Role screen by tapping the down arrow to the right of the name of the School (which is at the top right of the screen when you are on one of the 4 main tabs) and choosing the MprooVer you want to assist. If you are not a part of the MprooVer’s team, then you will need to request permission to join their Team by tapping the “+ Coach New MprooVer” or “+ Support New MprooVer”.

Once you are in the correct Role, to create an Action Item for this MprooVer, go to the Action Items tab > New feed and select + Add which is located above the Action Items. To recommend any Action Item already in the app, simply tap the Save button on that Action Item.

The circles on the Action Items tell the MprooVer who has created the Action Item and who is recommending the Action Item for the MprooVer. The first circle is always who created the Action Item for you (either the School Creator or an Expert/Coach or Support of the MprooVer). All additional circles are Experts/Coaches and Supports that are recommending that Action Item for the MprooVer by hitting the Save button on the Action Item.

To see a list of the people recommending the Action Item, either tap on the circles or open the Action item tile by tapping on the Action Item.

Many people fail to meet their goals because they get overwhelmed with everything that they need to accomplish. MprooV helps MprooVers by having them focus on their Top Priorities. Top Priorities are based on the MprooVer’s Assessment scores and MprooV’s back-end algorithm, but MprooVer can override the MprooV recommended Top Priorities at any time by going to the Attributes tab and tapping on Reprioritize.

Importantly, if you are on the Free Version of MprooV, then you are not receiving personalized Top Priorities and therefore you are not receiving personalized Action Items every week. For MprooVers on the Free version, they default to the School Creators top 4 priorities.

Every Monday, MprooV delivers to the MprooVer in the Action Items tab 3 Action Items for each of the MprooVers 4 Top Priorities (plus 3 random Action Items). So if you are an MprooVer and want to change the types of Action Items you want in your Action Items feed, you can change your Prioritization at any time. You can also update your Attribute scores and ask the MprooV algorithm to reset your Prioritization based on your new scores by going to Attribute tab > Reprioritize > Reset.

When an MprooVer first onboards, they tell MprooV what level they are at for the given School. Until the MprooVer customizes their scores either by tapping on the Attribute or by completing an Assessment, all of the Attribute scores are set to the average score for the level chosen by the MprooVer. Once the MprooVer changes one or more scores, then those scores will display.

When you first get on the app, the best way to change your Attribute scores is by tapping on the banner on the top of the Attributes tab. Once you have completed an Assessment for the first time, that banner will not appear and to update your Attribute scores, you need to go to the Update Attribute Scores on the bottom of the Attributes tab. If you want to update one single Attribute score, just tab on that Attribute and then tap Update.

Note: Experts/Coaches and Supports cannot update an MprooVer’s Attribute scores. They can only recommend updates to the MprooVer.

No. An Expert/Coach or Support can only recommend changes to an MprooVers Attribute scores or Prioritization. It is up to the MprooVer whether to accept the recommendation from their team member. If the MprooVer does accept the recommendation, their Attribute scores or Prioritization will be changed.
If you have a great idea for a School contact us at cat@mproov.me. We would love to hear from you.

To compare how you or someone else scored the MprooVer against how the MprooVer scored themselves, go to the Attributes tab and tap the down arrow below the Reprioritize link and select the person you want to compare scores against. The scores being compared are for the MprooVer (by different people). The app does not allow you to compare one MprooVer’s scores vs another MprooVer’s scores or compare two people from the MprooVer’s team.

To remove the comparison, tap the down arrow again and choose My Assessment or if you are an Expert/Coach or Support, then choose the MprooVer’s Assessment.

The Discover tab consists of all of the Action Items created by the School Creator for all of the School’s Attributes. These Action Items are curated from the world’s content (including content only available on MprooV). The homescreen of the Discover tab are Action Items for your Top Priorities, which may change over time. You can also view Action Items relating to any Attribute by tapping View All Attributes.
